Matthews
Founder of DNA LifePrint
As Detective Sergeant, Supervisor-in-Charge of the Homicide and
Sexual Battery Division for the City of Miami Beach Police Department,
Joe Matthews supervised and conducted over 20,000 criminal investigations
and over 2,000 death investigations during his 29-year police career.
Mr. Matthews was also the Chief Polygraph Examiner for the police
department.
As a result of the extensive knowledge gained from his distinguished
police career and solving the nationally publicized “Baby
Lollipops” Homicide, he realized the essential need to develop
the tools necessary to help protect our children. He was invited
to appear before Senate Sub-Committees, in both, Tallahassee, Florida
and Washington D.C. regarding Social Services responsibility in
protecting children. He recommended the taking of DNA samples for
identification purposes. He was commended for identifying the problem,
but was told there was no cost-effective and practical means of
accomplishing this task. Having made a personal commitment to this
cause, Mr. Matthews conducted extensive research and developed a
scientifically validated home DNA Identification Kit.
The DNA LifePrint Identification Kit was the first of its kind.
The number one child safety advocate in the world, John Walsh, the
host of “America’s Most Wanted” recognizing the
importance of this investigative tool for law enforcement proudly
endorsed our organization. In his continued commitment to the children,
Mr. Matthews introduced the comprehensive DNA LifePrint Child Safety
Program, which provides families with the DNA Identification Kit,
Ten-Digit FBI Certified Biometric Fingerprint Profile, High Quality
Digital Photo, and Child Safety Journal.
In addition to his successful police career and his development
of the DNA LifePrint Child Safety Program, Mr. Matthews continues
to utilize his expertise as a criminal investigatgor. Beginning
in 2000, he became an On-Screen Senior Criminal Investigator for
Fox TV’s “America’s Most Wanted.” He was
credited for solving the first cold-case homicide, solely initiated
and investigated by America’s Most Wanted. Mr. Matthews is
an On-Screen Fox National News Contributor, regularly appearing
and giving his analysis on high-profile criminal cases and other
important news. Mr. Matthews is a familiar guest on many major networks
and news shows; appearing on CNN, The Nancy Grace Show, Geraldo
Rivera at Large, Prime Time, True TV (Court TV), and many more.
Mr. Matthews has been featured in national and local newspapers,
such as USA Today, U.S. World news, The Washington Post, The Wall
Street Post, Associated Press, and countless others. Additionally,
he is interviewed daily by radio stations, newspapers, and talk
shows throughout the United States regarding our upcoming DNA LifePrint
Child Safety Events.
Mr. Matthews is a Clinical Research Associate, Adjunct Faculty Member
and Distinguished Lecturer for Nova Southeastern University, Center
for Psychological Studies. He conducts seminars, lectures and keynote
addresses throughout the United States and Canada for city, state,
and federal law enforcement agencies as well as the private sector.
